Warm Weather Casual

The temperature where I live got to 102 yesterday.  I couldn't even bear to put many clothes on Dolly, so I decided to dress for the weather.  The Mon Tissu mesh jeans shorts have become my summer favorite basic, so the rest of the outfit had to come from that.  I tried on cute tops from all my favorite designers.  Some clung to the body which just seemed too hot yesterday.  Some didn't work with the shorts, an admitted drawback of mesh clothing.   I did settle finally on this Baiastice top.  It looked cool to me like a sea breeze ripples through it.  Hair off the neck with a Truth hair, and a single small pendant as an accessory, and I was ready to face the weather.  Today it'll be cooler.  The forecast is only for a high of 97.

Every so often I like to pretend Dolly is a badass tough chick. You know the type, leather jacket, aviator sunglasses, boots even in summer, tattoo on her ass, earrings that don't match, hair mussed after a long ride on her scooter....

Hmmm, maybe scooter riders don't have a badass rep.  Oh well, it's environmentally friendly.  The leather jacket, though, is my rust for this week's color challenge.

Earthy tones always go down well and I love this top from Leverocci that I got in their sale this week.  The skinny leathers in chocolate from One Bad Pixel went nicely with it and my hair even changed colour for this picture. It's one of the Wasabi Pills styles (Princess), available at the Fairy Tale event.

Teller of Tales, Fairy Tales

This morning I went to the Fairy Tales in 2012 event and picked up a few fun items.  One of my favorites was this great looking dress and capelet from Chantkare.  Just as I was trying it on, I received this fabulous hat in a group gift from Ladies Who Lunch, which is related thematically to that shop's exhibit at the event. 

I can't decide whether I'm the sweet and fashionable maiden or the evil but very well dressed queen.  I know which would be more fun....

What's with the horse?

I am loving my parcel redo, so many new pretty spots to take a picture!  Yesterday was my home and garden sort of blog, today it's back to fashion. I spotted this gorgeous dress on flickr streams and had to have it.  But the horse ate my necklace!

Decorating with Dolly

I'm having such fun redoing my parcel.  I just built a new house for my alt Callie (she's so spoiled she has to have a bigger house than Dolly), and am having a wonderful time decorating.  You may recognize the Post grouping from the Chic2 venue.  The handy color change curtains are from Lisp.  The little peek of the kitchen table and chairs grouping in the upper right corner is also from Post. The hanging lamp is part of the Lisp kitchen grouping also available at Chic2.

The second picture is the foyer, perfect for a small grouping that includes the Fifty Linden Friday lamp from Meshworx, rug from Lisp, side table from Post, plant from Rustica and artwork from Organica. The lounge is the star and it's from Designer Prims.

Ayla and I went to Photo Hunt.  The challenge was handing us some poses and an emoter. I took two pictures, one of which was in this house.  You would not believe what the neighbors were doing! Hehehe.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Unmellow Yellow by Dolly

I took this picture awhile ago. It's been on my flickr photostream, but I hadn't blogged it for some reason I've forgotten.  This cropped tee from coldLogic IS unmellow yellow, even though I'm trying my best to relax.  These capris, also from coldLogic, are some of my faves in my inventory.  The sandals are from Maitreya and the hair is a year old group gift from Lelutka, still adorably cute.  Sunglasses are from Miel.

It doesn't seem so long ago since we did a yellow and I recall having very little of the colour in my inventory.  Any excuse to shop, I say. I went over to coldLogic and picked up this cute dress.  It may not be as bright as the swatch, but it's something I will definitely be wearing a lot over the summer months.  Why don't I have more yellow in my closet?  It's one of my favourite colours too!

Cleo Design at Fluid

Fluid is officially open and the theme for the first rotation is Summer Fun.  This will include props and poses designed for the beach, picnics and amusement parks.  Cleo Design have three animation loaded items:

Fortune Teller

The Fortune Teller a is cute, quirky little build, ideal for roleplay.  I dressed up as a gypsy and invited Dolly along for a reading.  I'm not so sure if she was entirely happy with my predictions, but I did tell her she was going to find love.  Watch out for the sultry readhead on the prowl!

Lemonade Stand

The second design is a darling little lemonade stand, ideal for a beach party or suchlike.  As you can see it sits 2 avatars in various animations and if you touch the white jug you get cake and lemonade to use as props.

Carousel

The last one from Cleo Design is a fun little carousel.  It sits 6 avatars and slowly rotates, another great addition to a party.

End of Spring

For the end of Spring, coldLogic released some lovely casual dresses.  Here's the long dress called Geller, shown with a Maitreya bag and sunglasses, Mon Tissu shoes, a Celoe bracelet, Maxi Gossamer pendant and Truth hair, all in mesh.  I took the picture on the Neva River sim, a beautiful, magical and relaxing sim that is a pleasure to visit. 

Fluid - Fluke Dunking Booth

Fluid is a recurring bi-weekly, themed event in Second Life directed to those of us who love poses, animations, props and furniture. It starts on the 15th of June and runs through to June 30th.

Today I blog this fun Dunking Booth from Fluke.  It has 4 sets of poses, challenger, taunting, direct hit and dunk.  The ball syncs with the poses and hits the target as you cycle through.  I had fun shooting these pics.  It's not very often I get the better of Mr Q!

My Beautiful Sister Louise

Louise and I met back in 2006 and only a few weeks later we were thrust together as twins for role-play reasons.  But it went beyond that and we have been sisters ever since, even though we may not be twins anymore.  You know when you meet someone and there is just that instant click?  Well that was us.  She's crazy, funny and loving and we have shared so many good times over the years. I do love her to bits.

A few weeks ago I decided that she needed a makeover.  She had been wearing our twin shape since 2006 and was desperately needing an overhaul and she agreed.  So we started on her skin, shape and hair, seen here, blogged by Dolly.  Last weekend we completed the final part of her make-over and took her on a shopping spree.  Sadly, the shape she had bought the other week didn't fit mesh too well and it was no mod, so I had to make her a new one, hopefully capturing a similar look.  She loves it anyway and she does look gorgeous.

Once I had taken a few shots of her new look, Louise, Dolly and I all threw on our new bunny girl outfits for a fun snap together.  We ALL look very different from when we first met all those years ago and thank the lord!  So much has changed on Second Life since then and all for the better.  With no may talented creators our AV's come to life and look less cartoony as they did in 2006/7.

My alt has insisted on shopping lately and then got bossy enough to insist she ought to star in another blog picture to show it off!  I've recently added Baiastice to my list of favorite mesh designers.  This top is available at The Dressing Room Blue for a bargain price.  It's summery, sexy, on sale, and I love it.  I'm also in love with the new Ariel hair from Lelutka.

I worked on Callie's shape recently to make her fit perfectly into most medium standard sized mesh clothing.  You know those pesky notecards that come with mesh items?  The sliders that need to be adjusted for mesh are all listed for every size.  The trick is to make the most of other sliders to keep that unique shape and still be able to fit into those jeans.

Lazy A:S:S Days

Last week I won the A:S:S Your Song Flickr Contest blogged here, and as well as winning $1000L I won 6 months free releases!  I am going to blog items as I can, I don't have a malt so some items could be tricky, but I thought it would be fun to blog these Lazy Day2 Undies.

Here I am just out of bed on a lazy Sunday morning.  I pulled on a pair of Mr Q's nut huggers and sneaked over to Dolly's to steal some of her coffee.  Shh, don't tell her. Also, I'm not going to mention the splodge today either, I'm scared I'll get scudded over the head if i do.  I actually like me in mens undies and there are a wide variety of colours and patterns to chose from (see below pic).  I love the rose and pink ones and I can see me wearing them for pottering about at home.

If you know me at all, you will know I adore everything pink! I love it when the challenge throws out a colour that suits me and this week raspberry glace hit the spot.  It took me some searching to find the right shade.  I decided it was close to rose, maybe I went a tad lighter, but it's in the same colour family!  After scouring the Marketplace I came across one of the new Maitreya releases, which just happened to match perfectly with the hat hair I got from there earlier in the week.  I have been wanting to take a pic of me lounging on the Cheeky Pea hammock since I got it at last months Collabor88, so here it is!

I adore this little dress with bolero cardigan from 22769, designed especially for the ArisAris Summer Fashion Festival which starts today and runs until the 24th of June.  It comes in 6 different vibrant colours and I just love that the little cardie is part of the dress, no hassle of mesh sticking through mesh when you layer up.  To learn more about this event here's the link to the blog.

Imaginary Summer

Everyone is going daft for the Maitreya new summer releases, this is probably the 100994787383rd blog post so far.  I didn't splurge, being a tight arsed Scot, as some love to call me, I made two purchases.  I do tend to think the designs, wonderful as they are, are comparatively over priced.  I bought the Mignon halter neck dress in apricot and the gorgeous hat hair.  I do wish she would make more hair, this is the first new release in a good while and I do love me some Maitreya wigs.

I don't always think of my avatar as hot, but sometimes - DAMN GIRL - let's get a fan in here to cool you off!  I went to the Chic2 event and picked up this Ricielli romper in the leopard print (nothing like a redhead in leopard print) and the Maxi Gossamer necklace. 

My hair is a recent mesh release from Lelutka called Daisy.  How did I miss this hair? I love it! 

Delusional and Glam

Meet Callie, my alt.  I dusted her off so she could pick up some items so I can redo my parcel.  Callie's kind of mean and a princess to boot, so she refused to help me until after she shopped.  After a quick trip to Collabor88, she went to the Skin Addiction event and tried on LOADS of skins, settling on Izzie's Delusional. Oh how pretty!

That wasn't enough, though.  I tried on the new Glam Affair Mia skin at Chic's 2nd Birthday Bash, and thought it might be too much like Leah for me to invest in.  But the Callie in my head said, "Ahem, I don't have a Glam Affair skin and you already have two!"  Soooooo, I had to let her out again and give her money.  She's trying to decide which she likes better. 

I used the same lighting and minimal post processing on both skins.  Isn't it lovely to have such a range of choices for beautiful skins?

For this weeks colour challenge I am wearing a skirt and tank from Cracked Mirror, available at the new round of faMeshed and the fantastic new sandals from Slink.  I adore how these fit perfectly over the mesh feet, no adjusting required!  I may not be a fan of summer in real life, but I have to admit, taking summery pictures on Second Life makes me happy!

I have to agree with my fellow Plurkers - the monthly event FaMeshed is great this month, bringing together some awesome mesh designers latest creations in one space.  The daybed by The Loft, the hair by Wasabi Pills, texture change black and white earrings by Maxi Gossamer, and the kimono jacket from Leverocci - all pictured above - are spectacular. 

I thought Leverroci should have demos of their offerings available.  I'd worn things from there before and took a chance, but I hesitated over the buy button.

Finishing off my outfit - I couldn't wear just the kimono, could I? - are the cigarette pants and white bustier from One Bad Pixel.  The skin in the top picture is League's Jen.

The Glam Affair pants at FaMeshed were too pretty to pass up and they came packaged in white, pastel pink, and the cream pair I'm wearing.

I tossed on my Glam Affair Leah skin, a system tank from Rezlpsa Loc, earrings from Beetlebones and bangles and nails from Mandala.

As for the sandals - I haven't taken off my SLink sandals since I got them except to change colors!

Let's Romp

Ayla and I usually fight over who gets to blog the newest coldLogic releases, but she's been busy blogging the Mesh Around Hunt, so mwahhhhaha, I'm romping in my rompers!  I also got the fatpack of SLink's flat sandals that fit over her rigged mesh feet as an add-on.  One less thing to tint. What a great idea!
