Dolly's Second Life Pet Peeves Meme

Oh dear.  Strawberry Singh posted another meme and I don't want to be a chicken and not do this one.  It's about Second Life pet peeves, obviously.  We've all got them.  Some share them with the world at the drop of a hat.  Others (read that me) seldom share peeves because our mothers told us "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Well, sorry Mom.  I'll be nice again tomorrow.  Here are a few of the things that make me want to slap these cuffs on Second Lifers:

GESTURES - I hate them.  I hate the noise, I hate the screen spam.  Occasionally between friends it can be fun, I admit.  But don't talk to me in gestures and expect me to carry on my side of the conversation.

ASKING ME HOW OLD I AM - I'm old enough not to want to answer that question.  I may give a person a pass once.  Ask me again and he's just an asshole (and it's always men who ask).

ONE SIDED ROLEPLAY - Yeah, yeah.  Her Master told her to call all women Mistress and to refer to herself in the third person.  But unless I'm in a roleplay sim where it makes sense it annoys me that she does.  Of course, she might like the handcuffs.

GOING TO CROWDED EVENTS IN LAG INDUCING OUTFITS - I'm not looking at avatars and judging their sense of style at shopping events.  Firestorm has a wonderfully handy derender feature, but Firestorm lags me and I'm usually on V3 (or is it 4?), and I haven't figured out how to derender avatars in it.  Multiple avatars with rendering costs over 100,000 each is laggy to many of us.  Be thoughtful.

 Whew.  I'm stopping here before I slap the cuffs on myself for my intolerance.  Peeves are idiosyncratic bugs and not usually deal breakers.  If you do those things it doesn't mean I won't like you (unless you do all of them - what a nightmare).

On to styling credits.  I got these sunglasses from Pure Poison just the other day and thought, "I'll never be able to put together a look that includes these!"  Now that I've paired them with the Danger pose from Ploom (free at Pose Fair), I love them!

Tipsy in My Attic

I'm a little lost without a color assignment today for Luna Jubilee's last week of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  So I drank a little wine, then a little more, and just a teeeeeensy bit more.... well, you get the picture.  I challenged myself to a photo with as many items from the latest round of My Attic at the Deck that I could squeeze into one frame.

The Costume Ball

I do love a masked ball.  It gives me a chance to be mysterious and dramatic - and The Costume Ball event has wonderfully classy offerings for this Halloween season's parties. This full skirted mesh dress by Valentina E. Couture gives off a lovely rich sheen and a hint of red with every step. The fairy wings are included.  Ploom has an exclusive hair that compliments the dress, complete with glittered mask that can be worn two ways.

Stumblebum Ensemble

When I saw these little birdies in a pose set from !bang at this round of Stumblebum they had to be mine.  Of course I had to visit the whole list and here so some of my findings.  The Spring Fresh necklace and earrings are from Dark Mouse, a cute little set that went perfectly with the Spring Dress from Blah, although I am wearing it here as a top.  The hair is another Stumblebum find and it's from Ploom.  The mesh skinny jeans are half price at Maitreya at the moment, so run along and grab them while you can!

I couldn't sleep so I'm blogging instead.  I just made it on time to go and hunt for this top at coldLogic.  It comes in three different colours and if you hurry you might just get it before it gets taken down.  I threw on my Zaara capri jeans and my Porn Star pumps, fixed my hair quickly and tada, all ready.  Meanwhile the birdies are tweeting outside and the sun is rising.

22769 - The Gallery Gift Shop

I think I've told you this before, but I LOVE blogging for Paco and Manu from 22769 Casual Couture.  Their designs are fabulously quirky and flamboyant!  This time round I'm wearing a gorgeous pantsuit, available at The Gallery Gift Shop from now until the 15th of April.  Again, the detail is awesome and I adore the feather collar and belt.  Thanks guys, keep the designs coming, can't wait to see what you come up with next!
