No spoilers here but this was my face at the end of Mad Men this week. OMG! What a pearl clutching moment!

SLink's Visage mesh heads are still so much fun to wear. My only complaint is there aren't enough new skins coming out for them. The store with the most Visage skin appliers, and perhaps my favorite, is Adam N Eve. Sachi Vixen, its owner/creator released a new applier called Taliya. I had to have it.

Collabor88 is a vintage style lover's dream this month. My dress, hair, pearls and glasses can all be found there for the rest of May.

Events, Events and More Events

 March is filled with great shopping events. Collabor88 is already open. Skin Fair 2014 just opened today, and for this week only there's an event called Fashion Pride Second Life to benefit the AIDS Committee of Toronto. My unbusinesslike but sexy pinstriped jumpsuit from 22769 Couture is a 100% donation item. The last day for this event is March 17th, so hurry over and shop to support a good cause.

A Lesson in Truth

Collabor88 - December Edition

There is a lot to love at this December's Collabor88. The wintery theme suits my wintery sim. There are three outstanding homes at Collabor88 to keep us sheltered until the spring weather comes. I'm standing in front of the LISP home, the smallest of the three. I like small. It comes in snowy and non-snowy versions which is good if you don't like changing your home the way you change your dress.

Also from Collabor88 is this adorable coat/dress from The Secret Store, and the bow hair from Clawtooth. It's rare for me to walk around in the same thing for three days, but I made an exception for this ensemble.

Vintage Glamour at Collabor88

I am so thrilled with this month's Collabor88, the event's second birthday. The new art deco build is lovely and there are three times as many stores taking part. It will take me awhile to go through what I've already bought, and I still plan to go back for some of the items I demoed. If you're a vintage glamour fan, this look is one you will want. The stole from Ryvolter (Vive 9) and the Deco pearl necklace are must haves. The Secret Store dress may be my favorite flapper dress ever and the Ingenue shoes are perfect for any period.

Hair Fair 2013 - Fashionably Dead

Hair Fair 2013 has cute-as-can-be casual hair at Fashionably Dead. The styles I'm showing include a bun or pigtail/ponytail choice in both packs. Enlightened Avatars

Dutchie just released a yoga mat with lovely relaxing yoga animations that play out in sequence.  It's a great place to park your avi while you stretch offscreen.  I feel positively enlightened.  The potted plants behind me, from left to right, are from Rustica and Dutchie.

Also, to my great pleasure, I found that PicMonkey has a cool bokeh feature.  I don't usually use PicMonkey for editing because I'm always afraid I'll overdo it!  Slap me if I do, but not this time.  This is exactly how I feel after a good yoga class, sparkly and relaxed.

Dolly's Second Life Pet Peeves Meme

Oh dear.  Strawberry Singh posted another meme and I don't want to be a chicken and not do this one.  It's about Second Life pet peeves, obviously.  We've all got them.  Some share them with the world at the drop of a hat.  Others (read that me) seldom share peeves because our mothers told us "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

Well, sorry Mom.  I'll be nice again tomorrow.  Here are a few of the things that make me want to slap these cuffs on Second Lifers:

GESTURES - I hate them.  I hate the noise, I hate the screen spam.  Occasionally between friends it can be fun, I admit.  But don't talk to me in gestures and expect me to carry on my side of the conversation.

ASKING ME HOW OLD I AM - I'm old enough not to want to answer that question.  I may give a person a pass once.  Ask me again and he's just an asshole (and it's always men who ask).

ONE SIDED ROLEPLAY - Yeah, yeah.  Her Master told her to call all women Mistress and to refer to herself in the third person.  But unless I'm in a roleplay sim where it makes sense it annoys me that she does.  Of course, she might like the handcuffs.

GOING TO CROWDED EVENTS IN LAG INDUCING OUTFITS - I'm not looking at avatars and judging their sense of style at shopping events.  Firestorm has a wonderfully handy derender feature, but Firestorm lags me and I'm usually on V3 (or is it 4?), and I haven't figured out how to derender avatars in it.  Multiple avatars with rendering costs over 100,000 each is laggy to many of us.  Be thoughtful.

 Whew.  I'm stopping here before I slap the cuffs on myself for my intolerance.  Peeves are idiosyncratic bugs and not usually deal breakers.  If you do those things it doesn't mean I won't like you (unless you do all of them - what a nightmare).

On to styling credits.  I got these sunglasses from Pure Poison just the other day and thought, "I'll never be able to put together a look that includes these!"  Now that I've paired them with the Danger pose from Ploom (free at Pose Fair), I love them!

Holiday Blue

I'm not sad, honestly.  I was just trying to come up with a catchy title and I'm wearing a blue sweater.  I've done way too much shopping lately in Second Life.  In my defense, it's all so GORGEOUS and at least some of it is on sale!  The Secret Store belted sweater and the Yummy Accessories ring are from Collabor88, which is freaking awesome this month.  The pose from Label Motion and the brilliant scarf from Auxiliary are on sale for The Dressing Room Fusion.

Not on sale, but no less awesome, are the leather skirt and suede over-knee boots from Baiastice.  Lelutka just released four new hairs and I had to have them all, of course.  My Maitreya handbag has been in my inventory for months, but it's an item I turn to again and again.

FaMeshed Times Two

Yes, there are so many cute things at the monthly FaMeshed event that I'm posting two pictures and I'm letting you know with my SLink hands.  I have been loving The Secret Store since I discovered it.  The ladylike blouse in the top photo is a real winner.  The Wasabi Pill hair and the Maxi Gossamer jewelry are other winners that I snatched up at FaMeshed for this shoot. I rummaged through my inventory and came up with an older high waist coldLogic skirt that paired nicely with the blouse.

Blouses are on my mind and that's why I simply had to snap a pic of the Cracked Mirror tunic sized shirt (or shirtwaist dress), complete with a short sweater vest to show off.  I threw on leggings and boots to complete the look.  The furniture, laptop and skybox are all from Apple Fall, the poster is from Post.

Close Your Eyes For Brighter Skies

When I'm down, there's nothing I love more than to head to the seafront, where I sit and let the sound of the waves crashing wash over me. It's the most calming thing in the whole world, I could stay for hours. In saying that, I live right on the north sea coast so I need more than a sweater and a snood to keep me warm in this crisp, autumnal weather!

Dolly and I went shopping for inspiration yesterday and we sauntered on over to League.  We picked up the same items and decided to blog them just to see how differently we both put our looks together.  I am in LOVE with the boots, I fatpacked the earth colours and I fatpacked the leggings too. The cute snood is free and comes in three earthy designs.  The sweater is from The Secret Store and it tied in with the look I wanted perfectly.  Of course the piéce de résistance and the item that gave me the inspiration for this picture is the hair from Alice Project. I love, love, love it and you can find it at the newly opened and quite superb Cinema event!

It's a Secret

You know those people in Second Life who get offended when someone compliments them on their look and asks where they got what they're wearing?  I don't get that secrecy, but maybe they are saying it's from The Secret Store.  I'm too excited by this secret so I'm sharing with a few dozen of my besties and anyone else who asks.

The Secret Store released this oversized sweater just in time for October bundling up.  The texturing is gorgeous.  I spotted the scarf, headphones included, on a blog and zipped over to Pepper Accessories to snap it up (so I can listen to Ayla singing Itsy Bitsy Spider in punk rock style).  With its unisex appeal and plenty of color choices, both guys and girls should have this scarf in inventory.  These are my first purchases from both of these stores.  I'm quite sure I'll be stalking their new releases from now on.
