Elikatira's New Mesh Hair!

Dolly and I agreed to take day about blogging but when I saw this new Elikatira mesh hair I was too excited and couldn't wait until tomorrow.  Isn't it just gorgeous?  I love braids and now we don't have the problem of them sinking into our boobies when we move!  Squeeeee, I just adore it!  This is the first of her new mesh releases which are also going to include clothing.  Bring us more already, Elika, I love you for this!

The top I'm wearing is a new favourite too.  I bought it for the 52 week colour challenge this week but decided it wasn't patina-ish enough.  It's from Insanya and comes in a choice of colours.  For skins and eyes, see yesterday's blog!

52 Weeks of Colour - Patina by Ayla

This weeks outfit is from TGIS (Trashy Girls in Style).  The hair is Andrea from Truth.  Eyes i grabbed from Fashism group notices and the skin is my usual Curio Yum.  That's about all I have to say for this one.  Be glad I'm not spouting my endless drivel at you!

52 Weeks of Color - Patina by Dolly

Ayla and I have both done naked posts!  We're SHAMELESS!  I guess it's time to cover up a little just in time for Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge!

Patina was kind of close to teal on my computer, and that happens to be one of those colors that looks pretty good on most skin tones, therefore easy to find.  I started with the new Maitreya boots and finally decided on a matching color of this adorable sack dress from the same store.

Ayla gave me a great bracelet from EarthStones for my birthday that worked well with my Yummy bracelet, both with complimentary tones.

Because I am just that cool, I donned Miel sunglasses and topped it all off with a hat hair from Truth that had the perfect teal (I mean Patina *cough*) tint in its menu.

Shower me with Kisses

Roawenwood has always been a favourite store of mine, Searlait Nitschke's designs are so beautifully crafted.  Back when I had a medieval roleplay sim it was filled with her furnishings and various nic-nacs which not only brought an authentic look, but were also were very interactive and filled with quality animations. My home is rather rustic because I love oldie worldy in SL, so when i popped over to the store today and saw this shower, I just had to have it! (Mr Qinan and I have a thing about showers scenes).

It's menu driven and has a great selection of poses which include 3 single animations and 10 different couple animations, including a few naughty ones. There are 2 different styles of shower on sale this week with a 50% discount, so run along and snatch up a bargain at $325L each.

Pipes and No Panties Challenge

There's a challenge floating around Plurk that seemed impossible to accomplish, but I figured I'd give it a try. The pipes are from Post and panties from... well, you get the idea.

My hair is by Lelutka, bracelets from a long ago hunt, and mesh bare feet from SLink.

In the Mood

I get tired of taking pics just of my own pixels.  Lucky for me, Clay is good natured even when I make him change his shirt and pants and hair... and then kick his ass!

Great couple poses are everywhere, but I thought I'd highlight just a couple of my favorite pose stores. The top pose is from Del May, whose store looks like an art gallery filled with breathtaking work.

The second and third poses are from Olive Juice (sob) which is closing in early February.  The silver lining is that she is selling ALL her poses at 50% off until she closes her doors.

What I like about both of these pose makers is they manage to capture a moment in motion in their poses, setting a mood.

UPDATE:

Since Evie smacked me with a wet fish for not including style notes, just quickly for me:
SHOES: Gos
PANTS: Maitreya
SWEATER: Maitreya
HAIR: Truth

As for Clay, I know he got his hair at Bryce, skin at Belleza, boots at Deco. I got him the mesh jacket from the marketplace. Jeans and shirt... no idea.

My Bonnie Wee Lass

In honour of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns, I have donned my kilt for today's blog.  I had actually forgotten i had it until my recent inventory clean out and was dying for a chance to wear it and today i can wear it with pride on his birthday!

I've actually had this outfit for many years, so i popped over to DragansVarg (formerly Huskey) to make sure it was still on sale and it is!  The shoes are as ancient as they come too and they are from Tesla, unfortunately i couldn't find them in search.  I hope they didn't close.  The hair is Soft from Elikatira.

I'm off now to salivate a bit more at the thought of haggis, neeps and tatties tonight.  I may just have a foodgasm!

But before i go stuff my face, i will leave you with my favourite Burns love song..

Truth District

I had fun yesterday morning at the Truth District. I got the new Truth hair, this mesh dress from Aura, and new shoes and glasses from Gos (both with color change scripts and LOTS of options).  The coin earrings and necklace are from League.  There are so many great stores there!

In fact, the only items I'm wearing that I didn't pick up from the Truth District are the handbag from Leverocci, the Mayfly eyes, and my Glam Affair skin.

A Retreat

SL is a retreat for most of us.  We can retreat to palaces, cottages, a platform, or a simple gazebo or elegant ourdoor fireplace from fucifino.  At a spare 63 prims, there's plenty left for some restful outdoor furniture and soothing landscaping from my inventory. I am loving the budding birch trees from Deco.  Even in the middle of winter I can retreat to early spring.

coldLogic

I picked up the group gift from coldLogic, a new meshy goodness store that will be opening February 1st.  They have a photo contest using the dress. Since it was pretty darn simple - just take a pic of the dress and post it on their Flickr group page - I entered.

With the dress I'm wearing my Gos boots, Jane tights, Deco scarf and Raspberry Aristocrat hair.

Just a quick update here. My pic WON the contest.

52 Weeks of Colour - Iron by Ayla

This weeks colour was relatively easy and a mismash of a few items I've picked up in recent weeks.  The top I picked up from The Sea Hole and the earrings from MOOD both part of the line up in part 2 of the Stumblebum event.  The leather pants are from Fishy Strawberry, the hair is LeLutka's Inverted style and as usual (because I'm a bore and won't ever change) the skin is Curio's Yum - Acorn.  And there we have it for another week of Luna Jubilee's Colour Challenge!

52 Weeks of Color - Iron by Dolly

Iron made me think of metal, then Iron Man, then working out.  When I found these grey mesh track pants with matching top at Stellar, I knew I had my Iron outfit for Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge. I layered the tank with one of my basic layering tanks from Miel.

I'm also wearing a Wasabi Pill hair (non-mesh), Mayfly eyes in iron blue (giggle) and SLink's fabulous rigged mesh feet.

Cafe Hunt

I started the Cafe Hunt today, just for something to do.  I got through ohh... about 11 stores before coming home to see what I got.  The pitcher grouping from Baffle! is my favorite thing so far.  You look for a steaming cup of coffee to find the prize.  I know, right? Perfect for me! The sweater I'm wearing is also on the hunt, A S O! number 7 on the list, I think.

Other items I'm wearing are my Tres Blah jeans, Fir and Mna boots and hair by Fashionably Dead.

If you're as easily amused as I am, you will RUN to pick up the Cafe Hunt prize from *.amato.* It comes with the jeans, coffee stained sweater, coffee cup AND two poses for spilling your coffee! There's a non-coffee stained version of the sweater, too, but what fun is that?

When Spring is Far Away

I can at least visit a sim where the trees have leaves and don a pretty bonnet. This hat was one of my finds from the store closing sale of WildO. The lace is color change scripted!

My hair is from Milana, skin from Glam Affair and - being the mesh advocate that I am - I couldn't resist the mesh eyes from Mayfly.  I also picked up the birch tree in the background from Deco.

Days of Winter

At the Deco display at Seasons Gatcha, I picked up these mesh cherry red snow boots that instantly became my favorite Gatcha item.  I already had the matching hooded coat, so taking this picture was a must. The mittens hanging from my neck are a Gatcha item from Naminoke and the Tee*fy over the shoulder bag is, too.  I tied together the red and purple colors with eggplant colored tights from Jane.

Group Giftie from 22769

Short and sweet!  This is the January's group giftie from 22769 Casual Couture.  The green flower shirt and black loose fit pants included.  I donned my cowgirl hat hair from Elikatira and we're good to go for another day.  Yeeeehaw!

A Leopard Can't Change Her Spots

Ladies Who Lunch sent a group notice out about some new releases the other day so I moseyed over to take a look.  I don't know if this dress (in a multitude of color and pattern options) is part of the new releases but it's an amazing mesh dress.

For those of you on Phoenix and limited to only one alpha layer, give this dress a try.  It has glitch layers instead of alpha, and it seems to work quite well, blending perfectly.

I would have liked to demo this dress before buying, but there was no demo.  The dress did not come in standard sizes, so I consider myself lucky that it fit so well in the average size.

I can see accessorizing this dress in many ways, but to show to you I added a scarf from Miel, Maitreya sandals and Dark Mouse earrings. The gold clutch was a Christmas gift to me from my friend April.  It's from Indyra Originals. Hair is by Lelutka and my new favorite skin is from Glam Affair.

22769 at The Gallery Gift Shop

Paco and Manu from 22769 designed this cute casual outfit for The Gallery Gift Shop.  You can wear the tops in a number of combinations, like in this first pic, with both the polo sweater and the vintage flower shirt underneath, or both alone.  Which ever way you fancy!

The jeans come with the whole ensemble and i added my UBU PornStar Lo-tops to finish the outfit off.

Here is another look with me just wearing the vintage floral blouse!  The hair is Elikatira's With, her hair without doubt my all time favourite.  You will likely see me wearing nothing else!

52 Weeks of Colour - Electric Indigo by Ayla

I didn't have to look far for this weeks colour.  This dress from G Fields was just perfect.  It's not on sale in this colour, i don't think, as this was a Christmas group giftie from 2010, but the ones in store come with an adorable head piece as an added bonus.  The hair is Show from Elikatira and that's about all i have to say for this weeks colour challenge.  Seeya!

52 Weeks of Color - Electric Indigo by Dolly

I've had this sweater from Cracked Mirror for several weeks and wow! today the day to blog it!  The earrings, also in electric indigo, are from Aura, glasses from Miel, hair from Exile, indigo jeans from Zaara and the rocker girl leather jacket is mesh goodness from Beetlebones.  The pose and prop are from Olive Juice.

Seasons Gatcha

I had such fun buying Gatcha items today at Seasons Gatcha located on the My Pants sim. Showing off a few of my fun items here, I got several colors of the Deco mesh scarf (and I want all of them!), the cutest necklace from Concrete Flowers, a HUGE ruby ring for showing off from Pididdle, and pink nails from Tiny Bird.  And see those piercing blue eyes and ruddy cheeks? They're from Insufferable Dastard.

The sweater is from Celoe which I layered over a dress from Ingenue which just happens to match perfectly to the Gatcha shoes I was lucky enough to get from Ingenue. Hair is of course from Truth.

Poses? Gatcha prizes from Olive Juice.

Make sure to wear some flowers in your hair

I ran across a closing sale of a little store named Wildo which seems to specialize in hair and hair accessories. This was my favorite hair. I tinted the brown to give it my trademark ginger color.

The hair accessories are amazing. I think I bought every one of them. Did I tell you everything is $39 L?

I don't know how long this store will be open, so don't wait on this.

All work and no play....not gonna happen!

Yesterday I finished a house I was building for an SL customer and set it into place, so today I'm kicking back. Here's what I feel like doing. This darling pose chair is from oOo. I've already blogged most of what I'm wearing, and I didn't think to ask Clay what he was wearing. The jacket I got for him, though from Marketplace here. Yay for men's mesh!

Crowning Glory in Mesh

Wasabi Pill has a new mesh hair release called Nicole. When I did the demo I was surprised at how much I liked the back as well as the front. And the thing about rigged mesh hair - it doesn't sink into your chest or back, no matter how you twist and turn.

I'm developing quite the collection of Wasabi Pill mesh hair, and am glad to add this one to my collection.

Also in mesh is the Mon Tissu Lycia Tank and the unisex Deco bullet casing necklace.

Did I need a new Cardigan?

The answer is yes. If it's a new mesh release from Fishy Strawberry, that is. Other goodness is hair from Elikatira, sunglasses from Miel, bracelet from Yummy Accessories for Collabor88. The shirt peeking through is from Nyte'N'Day and leather pants from League. The pose is built into the Diesel Works chair.

52 Weeks of Colour Challenge - Week 2 Coral by Ayla

Phew, i didn't think i was going to get this week done.  I couldn't find anything in my inventory to suit this weeks colour, but after a bit of shopping i found this coral Malaysia Dress from Hucci

I went for the barefoot and pregnant look and adorned my pretty mesh feet from Slink, a Christmas present from April.  I have rarely had shoes on since!

The chair is from PDA and i picked it up yesterday from this months Collabor88 event, where i also got this adorable hair from Clawtooth.

I never usually credit my skin, i always assume everyone knows it's from Curio, I've been wearing Yum for the past year and their skins for 2.  I don't see me changing anytime soon.  I don't feel like me in any other skin.  I definitely escaped the skin fetish!

Bella at Redgrave

I've never read the Twilight books, and only saw bits of the movies on TV with my son rolling his eyes as he passed through the room. So, I'm not going to comment on whether Redgrave's new skin and shape release looks like Bella or the actress who plays her, I don't much care, but the skin is pretty.

I made some changes to the shape to suit my preferences a little better and to fit the standard size mesh shapes.  It doesn't fit my self made Dolly shape very well, but that's ok.  It could be fun to take the occasional picture of a totally different av without having to bug my friends!  So, say hello to Bella-Dolly, not another av, just me in a different skin and shape. She is wearing Elikatira hair, Coco big shirt and pants, League tee and belt.

Some faves from Collabor88 January - so far...

I hit Collabor88 first thing this morning. Ayla, being on another continent, had such a head start, so I got a hint or two from her Plurk.

The mesh coat from SLink is incredibly gorgeous.  Only the coat is a Collabor88 item in this first picture, but it's truly the star.  After a little fussing, I went for a sophisticated look, adding my new Truth updo, Celoe mesh gloves, Mon Tissu part-mesh skirt, and Dark Mouse earrings.

I went on to look at a few more of the items I picked up at Collabor88 was impressed with the scalloped mesh top and darling necklace from Willow.  I'm loving the Clawtooth hair, and will probably go back to pick up the other style as well.  I think I love every piece of Yummy jewelry I have seen, including the bracelets shown and matching earrings (not shown due to hair - you know how that is).

Biding my time

It's almost time for the twins to arrive and that means it's reached that moment where I take some memorable pictures of my bump.

I love being pregnant and although over the months is gets increasingly harder to fit into sexy clothes, I am going to miss my belly!

I found this lovely pregnant pose at Embody.  I love how it captures me in quiet contemplation, holding my beloved tummy, probably feeling a combination of both excitment and nervous anticipation.

Embody is stocked with a whole array of fantastic poses for your photographic needs.  You name it and they will probably have a pose for it!

Cardie: Doppelganger
Tank: Jane
Jeans: Berries Inc - No longer in business.
Hair: Elikatira
Skin: Curio - Yum

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Week 2 Coral by Dolly

Hooray! I was so on top of this color! My Lelutka hair and Glam Affair lips even match!

I love this Ingenue dress, and have it in black, too. It's one of those brilliant part mesh skirts that looks 1,000 times better than a prim panel or a system skirt, and yet adjusts to almost all shapes.

My shoes are quite retro in cream from Deco.

This post is so bright and cheerful that it makes me ready for Spring! Too bad it's only January, oh well.

Best Buy of the Day

Ever the bargain hunter, I went off trawling the sales this morning and my favourite purchase of the day has to be this Oddment Shelf from Tatty Soup on sale for 60L for Super Bargain Saturday.  I love it to the moon and back!

Obsession Confession

I admit it.

I have something bordering on an obsession with hair and shoes, so this was an outstanding day. Truth Hair released two great new hairs that I snapped right up. I love love love this updo. In fact, I haven't even tried on the other hair yet, because I can't take this one off!

This hair feels sort of high fashion to me, so I thought I could highlight it with the other fabulous release of the day - Hucci's mesh platform pumps - D'Ann, Exotic Collection. I got a fatpack because I just don't know what colors I'm going to need, and the fatpack was so... well... tempting.

I slipped into my leather mesh jeans from Maitreya and one of my favorite camisoles from G Field.  I threw on some bracelets and earrings from Miel.  New hair, new shoes.  I'm ready for the weekend!
Did you think I'd be admitting to a farting obsession? No, that's Ayla!

Mr Qinan

My beloved makes his debut appearance on our new blog!  It wasn't hard to rope him in to modelling for me, he is such a poser, and quite rightly so, he's gorgeous!

The guys from 22769 have been busy again with this Leopard Lace jumper, designed for Mens.Select which starts this Sunday. It looks so cozy warm and a bargain at $80L.  Don't miss out and pay them a visit!

I have no idea where the jeans are from, I forgot to ask, and frankly you don't want to know.  He's been wearing them for around 2 weeks now, I shall have to peel them off him and get them scrubbed!  Stinky bum.  Same goes for the Fir & Mna shoes.  He calls them his Irish shoes.  I picked them up for his Christmas and i don't think he's had them off since!

As for the rest, his skin is Belleza and the hair is from Truth.  The glasses were also a Christmas gift from me and they are SCT's from Gos.

And there we have it, my handsome husband.  HANDS OFF! ;)

DollCoco

As an enthusiastic adopter of mesh, I am fascinated by DollCoco, and have several outfits for mine. This dress is part of a new outfit release. Clothing choices are somewhat limited, but what is available is made with painstaking detail. This outfit comes with a hood and cloak, evoking Red Riding Hood, but the simple medieval dress certainly stands on its own.

I'm not sure what makes these dolls so eerie. They're delicate and graceful using poses and hair right out of my inventory, Del May and Elikatira.

The Well Dressed Dictator

It's been a hard time for dictators recently, but Friar Tyles seems undaunted as he puts together his Caribbean dictator look. It all started when I took him to Deco to introduce him to the cool mesh pants and boots. There's just not enough mesh for men yet!

When I saw him a few days later, he'd put together a complete look, epaulets and all! I begged him to let me take a picture and blog the look for the men out there.

Without giving away all his secrets, I'll tell you where to find a few items making up Friar's look. The aviator sunglasses and shirt (sans epaulets) are from Hoorenbeek, the hat from LOKOS.  He's sporting a tattoo beard from Jaryth's Barber Shop over his Redgrave skin.

Friar's sense of humor....

priceless.
