Drows at We Love Role-Play

I wasn't quite sure what a drow was until I researched it after seeing the beautiful Pink Fuel skin at the We <3 Role-Play event. It comes with SLink appliers and every other applier you can think of. FATEplay makes a gorgeous dress called Lena in blue and silver for the event. The very useful updo from Mina, and the silver circlet from Keystone finish off my fantasy look.

The gate, fencing, and well in the photo are wonderful mesh items by Atelier Visconti. Look for it at Fantasy Faire on the Sanctum sim.

Evie's Closet at Fantasy Faire 2013

I'm really glad Fantasy Faire is letting me indulge my inner princess.  This breathtaking dress is from Evie's Closet, a mesh dress with a flexi overskirt, beautifully textured and covered with flowers.  When you purchase this dress in this color, your lindens are donated to Relay for Life for Cancer Research.  Faintasy Faire 2013 winds down on April 28th, so don't delay.  Evie's Closet is located on the Magnificat sim

Breathless (NSFW)

I picked up this delectable pose (you thought I was going to say man, didn't you?) at Pose Fair from oOo Studio.  I waited patiently (not) for Clay to return from his research trip to try it out.  Pose Fair is over, but oOo has the Breathless couple pose in her main store.  Rawrrrrr!  I usually let Ayla take the sexy pictures, but she's away so I figured it was time for a little spice.  Clay thought so, too!

I know I'm not showing much of it, but we took this picture in the gazebo from 22769's offerings at Fantasy Faire.  This is as good a fantasy for the gazebo as any.  Clay is in FATEwear jeans and shirt, and I'm in boots from G Field. (wink)

Why Do I Blog? A Strawberry Singh Meme

It's time again to answer Strawberry Singh's questions for this week's blogger meme.  Now she wants to know why we bloggers do what we do.  This one will require a little thought.
  1. How long have you been blogging?  Since December 2011.
  2. Why did you start blogging?  Ayla and I thought it would be fun.  I doubt either of us would have started by ourselves, but together we gave each other courage.  We both loved taking pictures and posting on Flickr.  Now that Ayla's on hiatus for health reasons, I'm on my own.
  3. How many times a week do you post an entry?  Ideally I wish I had new content daily.  Before I blogged I'd check my favorite bloggers' sites daily and would be so disappointed when there was nothing new.  I would totally burn out if I did that though, so I take a couple of days off from blogging every week.
  4. How many different blogs do you read on a regular basis?  I browse through the Second Life blogs from my blog role on a daily basis.  I like reading my Plurk friends' blog postings and I check out details from pictures I like on Flickr.  Cajsa Lilliehook started a regular posting of her favorite blog posts of the day.  I seek that out to discover new-to-me blogs to read and posts I may have missed. I have no idea how many that is!
  5. Do you comment on other people’s blogs?  I do very rarely, and shame on me.  Because I adore getting feedback on my own blog, I should comment on other blogs to spread that good feeling around.
  6. Do you keep track of how many visitors you have?  Of course I do!  Partly so I know what people like (or at least look at), and partly so I don't feel as though I'm just talking to myself.
  7. Did you ever regret a post that you wrote?  No, although I've regretted a few of the pictures.  What was I thinking?
  8. Do you think your readers have a true sense of who you are based on your blog?  I don't really know.  Probably these memes have given readers the best sense of the person behind the pictures.
  9. Do you blog under your real name?  My real Second Life name.  LOL
  10. Are there topics that you would never blog about?  Oh my, yes.  At the top of that list would be meanness.  There's enough of that in the world without contributing to it.
  11. What is the theme/topic of your blog?  I think it's spelled out pretty nicely in our subheading "a Second Life blog about whatever takes our fancy" It's mostly fashion with a bit of home and garden thrown in.  I have dreams of one day doing a tutorial about something but I know so little about anything!
  12. Do you have more than one blog? If so, why?  No.
  13. What have you found to be the benefits of blogging?  I like the broad connections one can make by blogging.  I've met new people I may never have met otherwise.  And honestly, it's something to do with my picture!
  14. So, why do you continue to blog?  I blog so I can squeal and say to a hundred friends at once, "There's the cutest new release at _____!"  Also so I can take pictures of myself with a swarm of butterflies around my head without anyone thinking I'm crazy.

More Fantasy Faire 2013

Maybe if I'd asked for early access to Fantasy Faire 2013 I could have taken pictures of the sims.  As I didn't, you will have to take my word for it that Fantasy Faire is a visual treat, and you must go see it yourself.  I'll just nudge you toward the items I like - this dress and cape from The Muses, for example, with 100% of the purchase price going to Relay for Life's cancer research.  All I need now is a dragon or two and I'll take over Westeros (you Game of Thrones fans know what I mean).  You can find The Muses with Bilo on the Crimson Fields sim.

I tend to focus on mesh clothing in this blog, and I'm happy to report that there is more mesh this year at Fantasy Faire.  I've noticed that many of the fantasy clothing designers mix system and mesh clothing.  The bra for this outfit is system.  I'm not sure why, and I don't mind.  It doesn't distract at all from the look of the outfit. OOOOH....maybe it's so I can flash the girls!

The vine arbor in the background of this picture is from Botanical and can be found at the Liaison Collaborative's Garden event.

Bilo at Fantasy Faire 2013

I'm ready for a little fantasy - and to support Relay for Life's cancer research fund raising.  I can do both at Fantasy Faire 2013, which opens today at 6:00 a.m., Second Life time.  I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at Bilo's Fantasy Faire mesh offerings like this elegantly textured dress.  You can find Bilo at the Crimson Fields sim, one of eight sims in this year's fair.

Evie's Closet - Elora Ruby (RFL 2012)

This morning I share yet another gorgeous helping from Evie's Closet at the Fantasy Fair.  This beautiful ruby gown is the third of Evie's Relay for Life donations and already very popular from what I can see on Flickr!  It reminds me a little of my wedding dress with the empire line cut.

As I logged on this morning I received a group notice from the Faire and so far, 3 days in, they have raised a whopping $10,201 real dollars for the American Cancer Society.  I find that just incredible!

If you haven't visited yet, you must.  Below I have listed the slurls and official blogs for each sim so they are easy for you to navigate.

Let the Fantasy begin at Evie's Closet!

Fantasy Faire 2012 is officially open and accessible from The Fairelands Junction sim.  Once there just choose a fantastic portal to walk through to the Fairelands sim of your choice.

Of course I urge you to visit them all, but being a tad biased I recommend you fly on over to The Tides and visit Evie's Closet, make it your first stop!  There you will find this whimsical gown especially designed for Petites at the RFL vendors.  As ever with Evie's creations this dress is just stunningly beautiful!  It isn't going to fit normal sized AV's so I went out this morning and bought a Petite avatar just so I could blog it, and ever since I've been buzzing around as a tiny little fairy.  I would stay like this forever if I wasn't so worried about my cats eating me!

Here is the link to the official blog for The Tides sim, where you can take a look-see at all the other stores there.  I promise you won't be disappointed, so be prepared to say bye-bye to your Lindens!

Don't forget this is all for a good cause, to support the American Cancer Society's vision of a world without cancer.  I've been touched by cancer just recently.  Thank goodness my Mother is now in remission and we're looking at a positive future, but cancer is a scary, scary disease.  Just remember every donation counts, no matter how big or small.  You are helping to save lives.  Look out for the Relay for Life vendors and do what you can to fight this worldwide battle.

Evie's Closet at The Fantasy Faire!

From Saturday April 21 to Sunday April 29, 2012, thousands of Second Life residents and creators will come together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer. Nine Second Life sims will be transformed into the Fairelands, a fantasy continent created to host Fantasy Faire 2012, to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).

Today I am previewing the Evie's Closet gown, Lenka in Henbane, her donation for Relay for Life.  When you buy this dress all proceeds go to charity. Isn't it just gorgeous?  The detail and she puts in to each of her gowns, or whatever she designs, is clearly evident.  One of the things I love most about the dresses are the way they flow.  I know mesh has its place, but for me you will never take away that floaty, princessy feeling I get when I throw on a gown like this.  Make this your first Fantasy Faire purchase, donate to a good cause and be the owner of this stunning dress Evie's Closet dress!

This is the first time since I've taken up blogging that I've been an official blogger for an event.  I hope it doesn't show.  This morning I've been all a dither because I wanted to get things perfect and I've been feeling somewhat starstruck getting to blog for Evie, one of my favourite designers.  I've been buying Evie's Closet gowns since 2007!

I kept my look today very simple because I didn't want to detract from the star of the show.
