Let the Fantasy begin at Evie's Closet!

Fantasy Faire 2012 is officially open and accessible from The Fairelands Junction sim.  Once there just choose a fantastic portal to walk through to the Fairelands sim of your choice.

Of course I urge you to visit them all, but being a tad biased I recommend you fly on over to The Tides and visit Evie's Closet, make it your first stop!  There you will find this whimsical gown especially designed for Petites at the RFL vendors.  As ever with Evie's creations this dress is just stunningly beautiful!  It isn't going to fit normal sized AV's so I went out this morning and bought a Petite avatar just so I could blog it, and ever since I've been buzzing around as a tiny little fairy.  I would stay like this forever if I wasn't so worried about my cats eating me!

Here is the link to the official blog for The Tides sim, where you can take a look-see at all the other stores there.  I promise you won't be disappointed, so be prepared to say bye-bye to your Lindens!

Don't forget this is all for a good cause, to support the American Cancer Society's vision of a world without cancer.  I've been touched by cancer just recently.  Thank goodness my Mother is now in remission and we're looking at a positive future, but cancer is a scary, scary disease.  Just remember every donation counts, no matter how big or small.  You are helping to save lives.  Look out for the Relay for Life vendors and do what you can to fight this worldwide battle.

Fashion for Life

I just want to show you a few of the vastly different things I picked up at Fashion for Life. This outfit is from Bare Rose. Gosh, it's darling and mostly mesh too!  I picked up the short short hair at EMO-tions and the earrings are from Donna Flora - all at Fashion for Life.  It's in its last days so hurry!

Also wearing Mynerva's Milena skin, Beetlebones mesh lashes, Mayfly mesh eyes and Izzie's French manicured nails.  The pose is from Del May.

I mentioned that I picked up some vastly different things, didn't I?  Watch for more posts today.

New Mesh Goodies!

I hate to say so, but it is torture to go to Mayfair.  I crash, it takes forever to rez, and unless I've just cleared cache, mesh stuff may not show up.  It's a shame, because Celoe and Mon Tissu have some great things out!  I'll keep my fingers crossed that as soon as the newness is over and fewer avs are shopping all at once, the sim will be easier to navigate.

This pink jersey dress (which comes in several colors) is a new mostly mesh dress from Mon Tissu.  There is a system jacket layer top that blends into the mesh. The reason this is awesome is - in a word - boobs.  No adjusting our ladies to fit the dress.  It's brilliant.  The hat and shoes are both all mesh from Celoe.

I also picked up some new mesh hair from Truth - Dee and Lykie.  Aren't they gorgeous?

My eyes are from Mayfly, lashes from Beetlebones, and skin and makeup from Mynerva.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - St Patrick's Blue by Dolly

I'm back! I had a wonderful week away but it's always good to come home.

My first blog post back is Luna Jubilee's 52 week color challenge, St Patrick's Blue. Yeah, BLUE!  Who knew?

I braved the crowds at Mayfair and picked up the perfect match in this mesh sweater and matching pumps from Celoe. The mesh trousers are from coldLogic, bracelet from Yummy Accessories, the newest mesh hair from Elikatira and skin and makeup from Mynerva.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge - Aquamarine by Dolly

I know I said I'd be on vacation and I am!  I'm in Key West at a darling hotel drinking mojitos in the middle of the day!  I wrote this blog last Monday! (hehee)  Ayla treating you well?

I just didn't want to get behind with my 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  Aquamarine is a sort of retro color, so I looked through inventory and found that Artilleri had some cute things in the right color.  My hair and swimsuit are both from Artilleri.  The sunglasses are Miel and my skin and makeup tattoos are all Mynerva.

See you later.  My cabana boy is waiting for his tip!

I'm Going On VACATION!

It's just for a week.  I'll be back and blogging in no time, and Ayla will keep you entertained while I'm away.  I'm dressed for my vacation, though with a tube top from coldLogic and high waist shorts from Artilleri.  My new mesh hair is from Wasabi Pills and my very pretty girl-next-door skin is Milena from Mynerva.  I discovered a new jewelry maker named Maxi Gossamer at March Mesh Madness.  I picked up several of her items, including these shell earrings.

So long! I'll see you in a week!

I Love Milena and Mynerva

I've been a fan of Mynerva skins for a good while now.  Kianna was my go to skin for a long while until I discovered Glam Affair and became a Glam girl.  But at heart I'm more of a natural girl.

I blogged about Mynerva's new Milena skin before, liking it but waiting for the full line to come out before deciding to fall in love.  Well, it's out and I'm in love.  I have the Milena Pure skin in champagne (shown below) which is a practically no makeup look.  It comes with loads of options for freckles, eyebrows or no eyebrows (and she sells great tattoo eyebrows separately to customize your look), and different cleavages.  But the great thing is... you can buy tattoo makeups and expand your options by - let me do the math here - a gajillion!  Above I'm wearing the eye makeup from one makeup package and the lipstick from another, all specially made for Milena.

If you know darn well you'd never be caught dead with as little makeup as Milena Pure you can buy a different Milena skin with more eye makeup and forego the tattoos.  Mynerva's all about choices to customize your avi.  It's a lot of work for the creator.  She did an awesome job and I applaud her work.

Money Can't Buy Love, But It Can Take You Shopping

So I went to ColdLogic and picked up most of the new things. I LOVE this blouse and pants! And yes, I fatpacked them.

Thank you Long Awkward Pose for making me giggle while I took pictures with your awesome pose props!  These greedy poses are available at Festival of Sin.

I'm wearing Wasabi Pills hair, Mynerva skin (not yet released, but soon she promises), Mayfly eyes and Pixel Mode wedgie sandals.

Guilty!

Yes, I braved the lag and went to the Festival of Sin. While I looked around for debauchery I found this not terribly sinful but very cute top from Bliss Couture.  Also wearing League leather pants, Exile hair from The Dressing Room Blue and a preview of the new Milena skin by Mynerva.

Skin Deep

Beauty is a subjective thing and because of that we are fortunate to have skin designers in SL that cater to various ideas of beauty.  I thought I would do a little experiment. Without changing pose, lighting, hair, shape or clothing, I took pictures of my current default skin, Linn from Glam Affair along with some new or preview skins of other skin makers that I have worn in the past.  Linn is seductive and sexy to my eye.  Alyx from Pink Fuel is the second picture, and compared to Linn, she's fresh faced and sweet (and currently $99L at the main store if you hurry).

The third picture is a group gift from Mynerva called Sara.  She looks younger, but it's all in the makeup or lack of it, in this case.  I was surprised how drawn to her I was.  She lacks the glamor of the other two, approaching beauty from a natural perspective.  And finally, a preview of Mynerva's Milena in porcelain and latte, also available to the group.  The Mynerva group costs $50L to join, but not a bad price for 3 skins.  I'm not as fond of the porcelain skin as I am of Sara's tone.  The latte is striking but I'll wait for the full line before falling in love. In the meantime, I may mix it up a bit between the first three, depending on my mood and the style I'm shooting for blog wise.

In case you want the rest of the items I'm wearing, they are Wasabi Pills mesh hair, Mayfly mesh eyes, Beetlebones mesh lashes, and Fishy Strawberry lingerie.
