52 Weeks of Colour Challenge - Aqua Island by Ayla

Another day, another colour catch up. Perhaps I went a few shades lighter than the example swatch, but I think you can still classify this as aqua. I even managed to co-ordinate with my sofa! Yeah, I know, it's a talent. Some people match up with their significant others, some their pets. Me, I blend with the furniture. Story of my life.

Milestone - 10,000 and Counting

Yesterday Double Exposure, our little Second Life blog hit 10,000 views. Last I looked it was 10,201, so we're celebrating with a picture together.  We're alike and we're different, each with a defined sense of our SL selves.  We don't pretend to be style mavens or expert photographers. We just like what we like and our photography is getting better with practice and computer upgrades.  Sometimes we're silly, like our Batman saga proves, sometimes we're sexy (especially Ayla) and we don't much care if that makes us dorks or perverts or whatever.  We're all that and more!

Fun facts about us:

- We met as roleplayers on a sexy, sexy sim in 2007.  We were such sluts back then.

- We decided to blog together just last December, and have been actively blogging ever since.

- We both usually wear a medium in mesh standard sizes, so don't tell us about how mesh makes everybody into the same shape!

- I was jealous Ayla figured out shadows before I did.  But she's figured out most SL things before me, so it's nothing new.

- My most viewed blog post is Pipes and No Panties (thanks, Pho, for that bright idea LOL)

- Ayla's most viewed blog post is U is for Ursula - Donna Flora A-Z (really thanks to Casja for that idea)

- We live an ocean apart from each other, and would never have met and become friends if it weren't for SL.

- We once took blog pics in the same outfit with the same pose prop at the same location - NOT ON PURPOSE!

- We fought over who would blog a new coldLogic release first.  Ayla won THAT round.

For whatever reason, with all those SL blogs out there, folks are reading us, and we're grateful.  We hope our readers share our sense of fun.

On to the credits before I get all blubbery:

52 Weeks of Colour - Bright Turquoise by Ayla

Turquoise comes a close second to pink as one of my favourite colours so I was well chuffed when coldLogic brought out some bright, dazzling spring clothes.  This colour combination went well together so I paired them up for this weeks colour challenge.  The picture is taken at Alirium, one of the bestest sims on Second Life!

52 Weeks of Colour - Tea Green by Ayla

Ahh the fresh scent of spring.  For this weeks colour challenge I'm wearing Jane's Minnie Tunic in Pine along with a pair of cute little pumps from EY:NO.  I went for a stroll in Alirium to pick fresh flowers for my little cottage.  The pose and the flower props are from Olive Juice. Lastly my hair is old faithful Elikatira's Novel style.  So there we are for another week.  I'm away to find something royal purple for next time!

Springtime Frolicks

When I saw on Plurk that this gorgeous top from 22769 Casual Couture was being released I sprinted over to the store and snagged it.  I LOVE wearing red, some say it's because I'm a scarlet woman, but really it just goes so well with my skin tone and brunette hair.  This Spring Top comes in a few colours but I chose Indian Fire.  The textures are awesome!  It's all prim and comes with a resizer, but it fitted me perfectly.  I asked Manu how they knew my cup size and I got a shady answer.  Between you and me, I think someones been rummaging in my knicker drawer!

The Comic Capers Continue

Last time I left you I was about to head off to snoop around April's cottage to see if I could aquire anything that would help aid my shopping addiction.  Of course, unbeknownst to me I had been spotted in costume.  I stealthily snuck my way though Dolly's and over the hill to April's grottier, more dangerous side of the island.  You never know what kind of riffraff she's got lurking around, so I had sharpened my best weapons, ready to gouge anyones eyes out who got in my way.

Unfortunately I wasn't expecting to run into a couple of well known, feisty super villains.  Before I knew it they appeared out of nowhere and accosted me, even my claws couldn't save me from these two. Although, I did manage to leave them with some trademark cat scatches in the struggle.  The blonde was a nasty piece of work, she grabbed me by the tail and you don't want to know what she did next, while the scantily clad, confident redhead bound me with poison ivy then hauled me to April's cottage.  At least I reached my destination, albeit, not quite as planned.

There they strapped me to a chair and started their interrogation.  Me being my usual stubborn self at first refused to cooperate when they asked me if I knew anything of a certain robbery that occurred a few weeks past.  After some venomous threats they dealt me the biggest blow.  They were going to tell my husband if I didn't confess.  The last time I got into a tiny spot of trouble it ended up with me clearing the paths of horsepoop with a teaspoon, and cleaning a mangy, skanky horse.  I knew Mr Q would believe them, he knows me and my mischief making all too well.  So I admitted the offence and the only way of keeping my crooked ways a secret was if I joined the darkside and help them in their mission to take over the island, and one certain caped crusader.

So here I am on my knees, pledging allegiance to the dark side, committing myself to the cause and no doubt dropping myself into the biggest plot of mischief I've ever gotten myself involved in.  Secretly, I also prayed for someone to save me.  All I wanted was to pilfer some cash to go shopping with.  What have I done?  And who is that lurking in the doorway?

I soon learned the creepy guy with the funny face was the man in charge of the other two vixens, apparently he calls the shots and is also Batmans biggest enemy, The Joker.  How in hell did I manage to get myself into this mess, and who is going to save me from a life of crime?  For now I will just have to go along with it, heaven forbid they drop me in it with the other half.  He'd go bananas!

All the poses in this blog, except the first which is by Olive Juice (it was Bella Baroque whose poses got got us started with this story) were made by the lovely Aprilmae Devin who owns Alterior Motions the place to go if you are looking for hard edge, BDSM animations, though she does have a good selection of model poses too, and furnishings.  As you can see, her vivid imagination is portrayed amazingly in these poses, specially made for our comic crime capers.  Visiting her store is a must for all your kinksters out there!

Birthday Flowers

My darling husband got me this outfit for my birthday yesterday and I just had to blog it.  It's so adorable and sexy.  He saw me in my huntress outfit last week and looked for something similar because, frankly, he loves me bearing my flesh, dirty beggar!  Anyway, coincidentally he chose this and it's from Severed Garden too, the same place i got the panther outfit!  Of course, he loved it all on, skirt ét al, but what he really wanted was for me to wear just the flowers, so the pic below is just for you Mr Q!

Predator by Olive Juice

As promised here is the second set of poses from Olive Juice for the EPOCH-Legend festival.  I had just as much fun with this Predator set as I did yesterday with the Huntress.  This time though I wasn't hunting badgers, but money!  Rumour has it that Dolly Baroque is good for a few quid, but she's that stingy I knew the only chance was to have a prowl around her house. I mean, I wouldn't call it theft, but just me taking a little reward for being an amazing friend for 4 years! I managed to find a few bundles of $100 notes and scarpered over the wall, making a quick exit before she got home from her shopping trip!

The Huntress by Olive Juice

Legend has it that there be badgers on the island.  For many years, hundreds even, there have been tales of the evil little critters running havoc and doing all sorts of disgusting things.  Armies of them infested an old castle, which now lies in ruins, not far from my cottage.  It seems they had a great dislike for royalty.  Old wives still sit in the tavern over the hill sharing horror stories.  I heard tell of a young prince who went by the name of Obe. He took it upon himself one day to hunt down the treacherous fiends.  The poor unfortunate chap spent three years in an asylum after his encounter with them almost deprived him of his manhood... don't ask.  My own hunt today was unsuccessful but I did find some very worrying tracks. I'm no expert. It could just be Meeroo, couldn't it?

On to serious business now.  Olive Juice are taking part in a brand new festival and I had SO much fun today with these 'Huntress' poses Bella made especially for the event.  The first EPOCH event, called “EPOCH-Legend” will be open on the 26th of February (my birthday!). They've got more than 50 shops, 3 themes and 4 venues to present you the best 2 weeks fair full of fun. You can preview items as they are sent into the shopping guide website.  The 3 themes are Art of Escher, Beast and Clowning. Olive Juice is participating in the Beast portion of the event.  Tomorrow I bring you the other set of poses called 'Predator'.

In the Mood

I get tired of taking pics just of my own pixels.  Lucky for me, Clay is good natured even when I make him change his shirt and pants and hair... and then kick his ass!

Great couple poses are everywhere, but I thought I'd highlight just a couple of my favorite pose stores. The top pose is from Del May, whose store looks like an art gallery filled with breathtaking work.

The second and third poses are from Olive Juice (sob) which is closing in early February.  The silver lining is that she is selling ALL her poses at 50% off until she closes her doors.

What I like about both of these pose makers is they manage to capture a moment in motion in their poses, setting a mood.

UPDATE:

Since Evie smacked me with a wet fish for not including style notes, just quickly for me:
SHOES: Gos
PANTS: Maitreya
SWEATER: Maitreya
HAIR: Truth

As for Clay, I know he got his hair at Bryce, skin at Belleza, boots at Deco. I got him the mesh jacket from the marketplace. Jeans and shirt... no idea.

Seasons Gatcha

I had such fun buying Gatcha items today at Seasons Gatcha located on the My Pants sim. Showing off a few of my fun items here, I got several colors of the Deco mesh scarf (and I want all of them!), the cutest necklace from Concrete Flowers, a HUGE ruby ring for showing off from Pididdle, and pink nails from Tiny Bird.  And see those piercing blue eyes and ruddy cheeks? They're from Insufferable Dastard.

The sweater is from Celoe which I layered over a dress from Ingenue which just happens to match perfectly to the Gatcha shoes I was lucky enough to get from Ingenue. Hair is of course from Truth.

Poses? Gatcha prizes from Olive Juice.

Feelin' Hot

My alpha issue is come and go, so when my computer, SL, and internet conditions are all in a good mood I can still take pictures. I think it helps to hold my breath while standing only on my left foot.

I went to Four Corners today and picked up a few things. I thought I was buying the demo of the Glam Affair skin, Linn, but I ended up buying the skin by accident. I can be careless like that at times, but it paid off. So exotic and pretty! It's the tan shade, and a shade or two darker than I would wear every day, but so glamorous! I feel like a brand new Dolly.

Everything else I already had on. I wanted to show off the butterfly stockings and dress from League. The mesh boots are from SLink. My earrings are oldies but goodies from a store that is no longer around. The poses are by Olive Juice and available at Four Corners.
