I've Got Your Back

It seems like forever since Ayla and I took a picture together. We wanted to feel comfy and casual for our rainy day in my new Parisian skybox from Barnesworth Anubis, so we pulled on jeans and sweaters from our inventory. We had the usual crashes, and I kept blurring out of focus, resolving and blurring again. But in the end we had a sweet picture of friends. It was worth patiently waiting to come into focus. Ayla has been away from Second Life while she worked on getting healthy again. I'm glad she's back, feeling better and ready to take a picture or two.

Don't Think Twice, It's Alright

I go shopping all the time, so it's not worth mentioning, except to show what's new.  But when CLAY goes shopping - now that's something to talk about.  We went (ok, I dragged him) to The Mens Dept., a monthly event for men.  I talked him into the grey coat from DROP and a pair of the headphones from 22769.  He had nice new mesh jeans from FATEwear, and I thought he looked pretty spiffy in his new duds.  I might have dragged him around for a scarf because our sim is cold as you can see, but I really didn't want to push my luck. 

We felt a little Bob Dylan/Joan Baez circa 1963 in this couple pose from Diesel Works, so I named the post after a Dylan song released that year.

Time to Breathe

The holidays are over, and it's time to relax, take a breath and pull on a comfy sweater.  I popped into The Dressing Room Fusion, which is all new as of yesterday.  This mesh sweater by Ricielli intrigued me.  Casual, slouchy, and non symmetrical items in Second Life take extra artistry and skill, in my opinion.  At 70 Lindens for a fatpack of colors, this sweater is a clear win.

Also from The Dressing Room Fusion is this lightly freckled skin for us gingers from Akeruka.  I've admired Akeruka skins before, but I must say - this is my favorite to date.  I hope there are more makeup options in a full release at the main store.  I will be paying a visit.

Autumn Haze

I've been feeling a bit lacklustre with my blogging this past week. Sometimes it all just gets a bit bleh and no matter how many outfits I try on, no matter where I go on the grid for inspiration, it just doesn't come. I plurked my lack of motivation yesterday and Geanna Lanley suggested that I went for a wander around Chrystal Dunes which is temporarily open to the public (it closes today). It's absolutely beautiful and it really didn't take me long to find the right spot to snap a pic or two. I wish it didn't have to close because it's a wonderful source of inspiration!

Now on to the clothes bit. The jacket I have on is a group gift from Paradisis. Isn't it adorable? I layered it up with a Jane long sleeved top. If you don't have them go grab the fatpack for $250L because they are perfect for under all our mesh winter goodies. The main highlight of this picture was intended to show off the new Wasabi Pills Amelie style, new for FaMeshed which reopens on the 1st of November. I love everything about it. The hairband is just adorable and of course as with all Wasabi Pills accessories, colour change.  The rest is a mishmash of clothes from my inventory. I think it all came together quite nicely and I hope you do too!

Finding Inspiration

I'm slowly healing and though I have a still a way to go, I can just about muster up some energy to blog.  After being out of the swing for two months, I admit it's not so easy to find my blogging mojo again, and doing pics etc is taking me a bit longer. But hey, at least I feel I can do it and that's a big improvement.  

So here I am, sitting at my desk with a cup of tea, procrastinating, contemplating, struggling to find inspiration.  Super blogger Dolly to the rescue.  Time to call her up to find out the gossip, new releases and sales I have been missing out on. Being friends with a shopaholic has it perks!

52 Weeks of Colour - Raspberry Glace by Ayla

If you know me at all, you will know I adore everything pink! I love it when the challenge throws out a colour that suits me and this week raspberry glace hit the spot.  It took me some searching to find the right shade.  I decided it was close to rose, maybe I went a tad lighter, but it's in the same colour family!  After scouring the Marketplace I came across one of the new Maitreya releases, which just happened to match perfectly with the hat hair I got from there earlier in the week.  I have been wanting to take a pic of me lounging on the Cheeky Pea hammock since I got it at last months Collabor88, so here it is!

Milestone - 10,000 and Counting

Yesterday Double Exposure, our little Second Life blog hit 10,000 views. Last I looked it was 10,201, so we're celebrating with a picture together.  We're alike and we're different, each with a defined sense of our SL selves.  We don't pretend to be style mavens or expert photographers. We just like what we like and our photography is getting better with practice and computer upgrades.  Sometimes we're silly, like our Batman saga proves, sometimes we're sexy (especially Ayla) and we don't much care if that makes us dorks or perverts or whatever.  We're all that and more!

Fun facts about us:

- We met as roleplayers on a sexy, sexy sim in 2007.  We were such sluts back then.

- We decided to blog together just last December, and have been actively blogging ever since.


- We both usually wear a medium in mesh standard sizes, so don't tell us about how mesh makes everybody into the same shape!  

- I was jealous Ayla figured out shadows before I did.  But she's figured out most SL things before me, so it's nothing new.

- My most viewed blog post is Pipes and No Panties (thanks, Pho, for that bright idea LOL)


- Ayla's most viewed blog post is U is for Ursula - Donna Flora A-Z (really thanks to Casja for that idea)


- We live an ocean apart from each other, and would never have met and become friends if it weren't for SL.

- We once took blog pics in the same outfit with the same pose prop at the same location - NOT ON PURPOSE!

- We fought over who would blog a new coldLogic release first.  Ayla won THAT round.

52 Weeks of Colour - Tea Green by Ayla

Ahh the fresh scent of spring.  For this weeks colour challenge I'm wearing Jane's Minnie Tunic in Pine along with a pair of cute little pumps from EY:NO.  I went for a stroll in Alirium to pick fresh flowers for my little cottage.  The pose and the flower props are from Olive Juice. Lastly my hair is old faithful Elikatira's Novel style.  So there we are for another week.  I'm away to find something royal purple for next time!

I got me some attitude going on this morning.  For some reason these shorts from 22769 bring out the brat in me.  Not that I have to dig that deep to find it.  When Mr Q saw me like this last night he called me Avril Lavigne then continued to chastise me like I was a child.  The nerve!

I've done nothing but blog this week it seems, and I had totally forgotten to look for something for the colour challenge.  Just as well I took break on Friday afternoon for a spot of retail therapy and found this over sized tshirt from Jane.  I paired it with my capri denims from Zaara and dusted off the flippity flops I got last summer from Maitreya.  All I needed to do was fix my wig, and today I'm wearing Magika's mesh hair.

52 Weeks of Color - Avocado by Dolly

 

Avocado was an easy color for me for this week's color challenge.  I wear it a lot in Second Life and in my real life!  While I had lots in my inventory to choose from, Jane just released her Spring collection and I couldn't resist this oversize tee shirt.  I'm also wearing a new mesh Magika hair, Glam Affair Linn skin and SLink mesh rigged feet.  The pose and window pose prop are from Adorkable.

I picked up the group gift from coldLogic, a new meshy goodness store that will be opening February 1st.  They have a photo contest using the dress. Since it was pretty darn simple - just take a pic of the dress and post it on their Flickr group page - I entered.
