Abloom in June

There are so many amazing new releases that it took me awhile to figure out what to do first. I finally decided on the Baiastice maxi dress from the new June FaMeshed event. Hucci had some darling shoes to add to my SLink feet that suited the dress perfectly (see below picture). My Maxi Gossamer ring is also from FaMeshed.

The lilac flowers and pose are from Adorkable's gacha items for The Arcade Gacha Event, always a fun madhouse. Adorkable has announced that she'll be closing her store soon, which is heartbreaking news. I'm still trying to recover from the closing of Olive Juice! Still, best of luck to Adorkable.

My Truth hair (what a perfect casual shorter hair!) and Mandala star earrings are also new releases, though not part of an event.

Something Old, Something New

I love this pay phone from 22769's Bauwerk Furniture.  It has built in animations to lean against, sit on or under.  I thought it would be fun to show the old and new technologies together and used Adorkable's Call Me pose complete with cell phone prop.  It also helped me show off goodies from Pure Poison and the wonderfully customizable PXL Creations skin, Sophia.  Sophia comes with lots of options in eye makeup, brows, cleavage, lipsticks and freckles.

PXL Creations Coming to Collabor88

I just heard that Hart Larsson from PXL Creations is going to be a guest creator at Collabor88 beginning April 8th. He's introducing his newest skin, Jade, in exclusive makeups.  Gorgeous!

The pose is worth a shout out, too.  I picked it up at Pose Fair from Adorkable, cell phone prop included.

Pop Princess Audition

My Attic at the Deck has a pop star theme this go around and I got a kick out of Adorkable's poses with the microphone prop.  Winx has a a couple of great photo sets.  The treble clef and eighth notes in the background are from that set. 

Drawing from my own wardrobe to dress for my audition, I was happy to see mesh pieces from different creators worked together the way this Baiastice top and Maitreya skirt do.  Going blonde was just because when I think pop star I think Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga and a horde of blonde pop stars.  Totally cliche!

Tipsy in My Attic

I'm a little lost without a color assignment today for Luna Jubilee's last week of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  So I drank a little wine, then a little more, and just a teeeeeensy bit more.... well, you get the picture.  I challenged myself to a photo with as many items from the latest round of My Attic at the Deck that I could squeeze into one frame. 

Let's see - there's the Scarlet Creative fireplace grouping, the Ploom hair, the Glam Affair skin, the Somnia top (I love this top!) and the Adorkable pose and wine bottle prop. Not bad for one pic! Actually, not bad for one sale event!  Hurry on over to My Attic.  You too can be tipsy.

I Come Bearing Gifts

Christmas is drawing closer and I went running around the neighbourhood delivering presents.  I got to the last house and there was no answer for a while and I thought Friar must still be angry with me after I accidentally reversed an elephants arse into his doorway, where it left a smelly deposit.  But that was ages ago, surely he has some festive spirit in him. Suddenly I heard a deep, grizzly voice saying "Wadda ye want?" He didn't sound at all happy and he scared the blinking bejeezus out of me so I dropped the presents on the doorstep and ran for the hills, my heart about thudding out of my chest. Maybe the Hai Karate aftershave will cheer him up, if that doesn't do the trick then he's bound to be happy with hand knitted jumper with a cheery face of Santa on it. 

This Adam & Eve skin is super gorgeous. It comes with different makeups and a few extra layers such as freckles and hair bases. I'm not one for much make-up real life or Second Life and this Bare skin was just perfect for me.

I also couldn't resist Leagues new release, the Faux Fur Pea Coat. You get three, one full colour and two with gradient shading at the bottom. They are gorgeous and snugly, just right for our winter wardrobes.

Getting Down to Business

coldLogic's newest release includes combo jackets and shirt tops suitable for the executive woman in Second Life (remember all the CEO titles we used to see?).  The pinstripe skirt matches and fits flawlessly beneath the shirt.  I'd feel totally professional and serious if it weren't for the slightly disheveled untucked shirt that makes me think of a woman leaving her lover in the foggy morning hours.  OK, it could just as easily be toddlers, but where's the romance in that?

We're Homeward Bound

I snuck round to Dolly's for inspiration today. Her land is right next door to me and she has all sorts of props and poses dotted around the place. In the first picture I borrowed her horse from Focus Poses. Isn't she a pretty thing?

Now to the clothes. I am a bit behind with all the events and sales, so the other day I did a little catching up and I landed at FAIR where I got this snugly coat from Zenith.  The scarf is from last winter but it is still available FREE at Mr Poet  (You'll find it upstairs). It's colour change and definitely one of my favourite winter warmers. The rest of my outfit you can find credited below.

In this second picture I used a pose I got from Adorkable at last years winter gatcha event. It is quite serene and reflective and it gave me the idea to capture that against water.

Autumn Haze

I've been feeling a bit lacklustre with my blogging this past week. Sometimes it all just gets a bit bleh and no matter how many outfits I try on, no matter where I go on the grid for inspiration, it just doesn't come. I plurked my lack of motivation yesterday and Geanna Lanley suggested that I went for a wander around Chrystal Dunes which is temporarily open to the public (it closes today). It's absolutely beautiful and it really didn't take me long to find the right spot to snap a pic or two. I wish it didn't have to close because it's a wonderful source of inspiration!

Now on to the clothes bit. The jacket I have on is a group gift from Paradisis. Isn't it adorable? I layered it up with a Jane long sleeved top. If you don't have them go grab the fatpack for $250L because they are perfect for under all our mesh winter goodies. Investment Advice: Celoe Jacket BUY

For my blog pictures I walk a line between showing the item I want to highlight to its best advantage, and one that might tell a bit of a story, to varying degrees of success.  In this case I was so conflicted that I went ahead and posted both versions of the photo.  The main change is in the angle of the sun in Windlight, which of course made all the difference.  Also I cropped the second picture differently to further highlight the object of my photo.

It's the jacket, of course, that I'm highlighting.  Celoe's new release took me back to my real life twenties (not so long ago cough, cough) when I bought my first designer jacket on sale.  I didn't know then that I was investing in something I'd wear for 15 years until it wore completely out.  This is (almost) that jacket!

22796 at the Gallery Gift Shop

The boys from 22769 Casual Couture have brought their meshy goodness to The Gallery Gift Shop this month with this darling stripey dress.  It's available at the Gift Shop from now until the 15th of May, and for $100L it's way too much of a bargain to pass up!  I added a few accessories, like the Peepers glasses from Miel and the Crystal Cuffs from Dark Mouse (which I tinted black), just to add a little je ne sais quoi!  The rest you can find below.

I nipped along to the My Attic event at the Deck this afternoon and picked up a few goodies.  The Audrey Dress from Maitreya is amazing, I felt so elegant and Audrey like when I wore it.  I also snagged this cute little corset dress from Cracked Mirror, I wore the same Exile - She loves you - hair, and changed the band to pink.  Maybe my dreams can come true and I can get a part in Grease the musical! (except from the fact I can't sing).

Desert Princess

Oh my god, the creation of this blog post has been a nightmare for me!  Doesn't help that I just fell off my chair.  Don't ask. This is the third day I've tried to get this shot right, then when I get a picture I am semi happy with I take it to GIMP and it's full of those pesky grid lines!  Anyway, I digress, excuse me a moment while I take a deep breath and then I'll get on with it.

For my birthday last month Mr Q treated me to all kinds of goodies.  When he sent me the Marketplace link to buy this and guess what?  I already had it in my inventory!  So I promised that I would blog it for him.  So here I am, in the middle of some desert with camels sniffing at me and making all sorts of strange honking noises!

These beautiful silks are from Vigo Creations, authentic role play & lifestyle clothier.  I had considered it as my wedding dress at one point before we decided to go traditional.

52 Weeks of Color - Avocado by Dolly

 

Avocado was an easy color for me for this week's color challenge.  I wear it a lot in Second Life and in my real life!  While I had lots in my inventory to choose from, Jane just released her Spring collection and I couldn't resist this oversize tee shirt.  I'm also wearing a new mesh Magika hair, Glam Affair Linn skin and SLink mesh rigged feet.  The pose and window pose prop are from Adorkable.

U for Ursula - A-Z Donna Flora

Isn't this Donna Flora dress and sun hat just adorable? It's for the Donna Flora A to Z project.  For the pose I used Petals in the Wind from Adorkable and to finish the dress off I donned my G Field Knot Wedge Sandals.  As usual my skin is from Curio and my hair is Over from Elikatira.

Cajsa Lilliehook thought up this project because Squinternet Larnia the Donna Flora creator is recovering from cancer treatment - has not been able to create - has some big expenses (home health aide) and also needs some love. She's not done anything since mid-December and could really use a sales and an emotional boost.
