My Second Life Is But a Dream...

I did a little landscape shopping and added Botanical's water lilies to my pond. I also picked up the newest chair from the mini event, Atelier Kreslo, this time a collaboration between Pilot and Fri.day. I was more into taking a serene and peaceful picture than in shooting a fashion photo, because I'm waiting for the June events like FaMeshed and The Arcade Gacha events to begin. So I'll just briefly run down what I'm wearing then sit on my dock and do some much needed inventory maintenance.

Second Life - Another Time and Place

Some of the most intriguing and beautiful places in Second Life are roleplay sims like Venexia.  When Bilo released two styles of caftans with a medieval flair, I decided it was time to peek in on this gorgeous sim in costume.  It was quiet when I arrived and donned my observer tag.  The little bit of roleplay that I overheard was interesting and made me want to read the background story.  Creativity in Second Life is not just in building beautiful things and dressing up our avatars, but in telling stories - sometimes comedy, sometimes tragedy, sometimes with pictures, and sometimes with words.  No wonder I love Second Life.

Now where's that gondola to take me to my palazzo?

Just a Girl in a Coffee Shop

In Second Life I can have horns, wings, branches growing out of my heard, and so many other oddball things, and yet, 99.9% of the time I choose to stay close to real life (with a better ass).  Dolly is an extension of the real life me, not an alternative.  Oh, I have a penguin avatar and I can get all happy feet in it and bring tears to my eyes laughing.  But dress Dolly in jeans and a sweater, plop her down in a coffee house, and I'm just as happy as long as I have a cup in real life.

This is all my way of rationalizing yet another pair of blue jeans, this pair by Fashionably Dead and new at Collabor88.  DOLLY NEEDED them to sit in coffee shops!  And by the way - I started with the Wasabi Pills hair this time in my styling - one of several newly added hairs to my inventory for my birthday thanks to Ayla and April.

Devil in the Details

Putting together an outfit I like enough to want to share is fun and occasionally exasperating.  I started out today with the elegant scarf from Boom and built an outfit around it.  Finally satisfied with the Baiastice sweater, long skirt, and boots.  I added the other little touches - the Sea Hole bracelet, Maitreya handbag, Purple Moon sunglasses, the perfect pose from Bounce This Pose - all fun so far.

Then I got to the hair.  For my birthday the other day, Ayla and April fed my hair addiction with several new hairs.  I wanted to wear any one of them, but none went with the rest of the look!  Wouldn't you know, a Lelutka hair that's been in my inventory for over a year won out.  Oh well, next post I'll start with the hair!

52 Weeks of Color - Juniper by Dolly

I feel brilliant today. I managed to put together a juniper look with some of my favorite designers, Maitreya, coldLogic, and Purple Moon.  In addition I managed to smile for the camera without looking like a total doofus thanks to the new concept that was just released by Logo, a mesh head with many makeup, eye and expression customizations.  I can't wait to see more releases from this forward thinking designer!

Sometimes Vintage is Timeless - Jackie by Purple Moon

Purple Moon Creations is one of Vintage Fair's sponsors, and she has a wonderful affinity for vintage clothing.  Her new release blows me away.  I'm hard pressed to date this lovingly detailed Chanel inspired outfit to an era - it's timeless.  I'm going to go with the early 60's, though.  I can almost see Jackie Kennedy wearing something like this on the campaign trail in 1960 (it doesn't hurt that the outfit is named Jackie, too).  The pose in this top picture is by another of Vintage Fair's sponsors, oOo, from her elegant Rouge collection.

In other Vintage Fair news, SLink has done it again.  Siddean has come up with a wonderful solution to all those pesky tinting of feet for every new pair of shoes you buy.  First she introduced sandals, ballet slippers and flip flops (she says thongs) for her rigged mesh bare feet.  And now she's expanded the idea for heels as well.  Tint the tippy-toe looking bare feet once, then just change shoes at will.  Brilliant!  This pair of shoes is the first of what I hope are many styles to slip on these new pretty feet of mine.  They're only at Vintage Fair, and while Vintage Fair is open, the shoes come with the medium sized feet.  After that they'll be sold separately.  Aren't they darling?

I fell asleep in the slow movement

This is something that really happened to me at a chamber music recital when I was very tired.  I was sitting in the front row, too.  In my defense, it was the second movement of a Schoenberg quartet.

Wasabi Pills and Mayfly Eyes at Zombie Popcorn

I was delighted to see Wasabi Pills mesh hair and Mayfly mesh eyes in the new Zombie Popcorn Collection. Both designers have become staples in my inventory.  I threw on a blouses from another favorite, coldLogic, and added some newer jewelry and took a quick pic of the three hairstyles I settled on, both in the gingerbread color, all mesh.  The short hairs are non-rigged mesh which means they're modifiable to your head.

Can you see the two tone eyes? Look closer, let me mesmerize you!  They eyes are Mayfly and I got three new colors.

The earrings in the top photo are from Mandala.  The necklace in the second photo is from Purple Moon Creations.  The earrings in the third photo are from Je Suis and available at Zombie Popcorn.
